Progress...

This week I have been finishing off the horn, I've improved the painting effect on it and have added a twine handle/neck rope to it and have just this second varnished it! 

 

I've also started the next object - the ring from LOTR, this has proved tricky! But here it is so far...

Whilst I've had the clay out I've also created some peas in a pod for my mum-in-law who needs a visual aid for one of her music classes for children....

So, after failing with the mod roc I decided modelling the horn from clay would be better! Success! This week the battle of painting it to look like a horn....it's proving tricky!

So last week was a hard week, the horn just wasn't working faced with the same dilemma this week, I decided to change the material from plaster to clay. This seems to be achieving a better effect than I had hoped! This morning I have crafted the horn, and now I need to leave it to dry a bit before getting it into better shape, so it's a bit stronger!
